Job summary

Carlex Glass America, LLC is seeking a Quality Technician for a split shift (10:00 am - 6:30 pm) at the Ligonier facility. The role involves collecting windshield samples, cutting windshields for tests, and preparing materials for various analyses in a high-safety environment.

As part of a safety-driven culture, you will perform multiple tests (distortion, moisture, light transmission, opacity) across European and Asian market parts, with benefits starting from day one and a sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of related lab-based testing experience.
• Glass industry experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Collect windshield samples.
• Cut windshields to create test samples.
• Prepare samples for specific tests.
• Conduct body glass fragmentation tests.
• Test water softener system for each windshield line.
• Conduct Distortion, Moisture, Pummel, Light Transmission, Boil testing, Ball Drop testing, Opacity testing analysis for all windshield parts.
• Conduct Robustness testing as needed or required.
• Follow up testing for non-compliant product.
• Additional testing for European and Asian Market parts.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

KEY COMPETENCIES

• Intermediate experience with Microsoft Suite (Word & Excel)
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and limited direction
• Ability to compile and compose reports for internal and external purposes
• Ability to understand tempered glass and Windshield standards
• Familiarity with reading & executing test specifications
• Adept at summarizing data and revealing key trends
• Detail oriented, able to maintain test logs/results/data

REQUIREMENTS

Years of Experience:

• 1+ years of related lab-based testing experience. Glass industry experience preferred, but not required

Other Requirements

• Must be able to work an alternative work schedule to include 12-hour shifts
• Work beyond the traditional 40 hours per week may be required as workload or projects dictate, including weekends and holidays
• Proven knowledge of ANSI European and Asian Market Standards
