Job summary

Westmag in the United States is seeking a Quality Technician to ensure incoming components and finished products meet our stringent standards. You will inspect magnets, laminations, bearings, and PCBAs, verify tests, and work closely with Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering to prevent issues before shipment.

You will perform receiving inspections, document results, review certificates of conformance, conduct final inspections, maintain traceability, and help calibrate inspection

Qualifications

• Read and interpret engineering drawings including GD&T.
• Experience with ISO 9001 quality management practices.
• Strong documentation habits and attention to detail.
• Ability to read certificates of conformance and test reports.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Hands-on measurement with precision tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving inspection of purchased parts and raw materials using drawings, GD&T, specifications and approved sampling plans.
• Measure dimensional and functional characteristics with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin and thread gauges, optical comparators and Keyence systems.
• Conduct first article inspections on new parts and suppliers, documenting results.
• Review supplier documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Identify, tag and segregate nonconforming materials and support MRB dispositions.
• Provide inspection data to support supplier corrective actions and root-cause investigations.
• Perform final inspection of finished motors and actuators, including tests before release.
• Verify traceability, packaging, and shipping paperwork; prepare certificates of conformance.
• Inspect returned products and document findings for investigations.
• Maintain inspection records in ERP/MES and track defect trends.
• Ensure inspection equipment is calibrated and used correctly; help improve inspection instructions.
