Job summary

Helmerich and Payne in Tulsa, OK, is seeking a Quality Technician to inspect materials and products against specifications and standards. You will read blueprints, perform NDT-related tasks, and help decide to accept or reject items, reporting results.

Ideal candidates will be familiar with API, ASME, AWS, and ANSI/ASNT, able to use measuring tools, and proficient with Excel/Word; ERP/MRP systems training is provided. Onsite work with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Familiar with API, ASME, AWS, ANSI/ASNT.
• Comfortable reading blueprints; familiar with GD&T.
• Able to use/read measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, etc).
• Good PC skills: Excel, Word, etc. Able to learn ERP/MRP system.
• Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform NDT and/or assist NDT Technician with tasks associated with non-destructive testing.
• Create NCR and DMR reports.
• Perform First Article Inspections with reports.
• Conduct analyses of raw materials, in-process materials, finished goods and environmental samples, checking for quality and that they meet necessary specifications.
• Monitor testing procedures and processes to ensure tests performed are done according to item specifications, protocols and standard test methods.
• Interpret test results and compare them to the specifications and control limits in place while providing recommendations on the appropriateness of data.
• Complete documentation necessary for the support of testing procedures, including inventory forms, data capture forms and equipment logbooks.
• Ensure equipment is calibrated, validated and maintained properly and ensure safety during operation of equipment.
• Assess analytical and testing methods and procedures in order to determine how they can be improved in the future.
