Job summary

Nucor Corporation in Illinois is seeking a Quality Inspector to inspect welded structural parts and verify packing accuracy across all departments. The role requires maintaining tool calibration logs, tracking quality records, and leading quality improvements on a continental shift (12 hours, 3-4 shifts per week).

AWS CWI and NDT UT Level I certifications are targeted within deadlines. Annual bonuses and profit sharing are offered, with a base pay range of $31.97–$47.23 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to obtain AWS CWI within 12 months.
• Ability to obtain NDT UT Level I within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Inspect welded/fabricated parts for proper assembly using tape and gauges.
• Perform routine product inspections and verify packing accuracy.
• Maintain calibration and weld certification logs.
• Track and investigate Quality Records (QSRs and IQRs).
• Lead quality initiatives and process improvements.
• Work 12-hour continental shifts; fill ins on other shifts when needed.
