Job summary

Nucor Building Systems Texas in Terrell, TX is seeking a quality control inspector to read shop drawings, inspect welds, and uphold a comprehensive QC program. You will support IQR processes and drive continuous improvement with a focus on safety and productivity.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, a current CWI or the ability to obtain one within a year, and prior fabrication facility experience. Night shift availability is required, with some shift flexibility as needed.

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret assembly drawings and reports.
• Must visually inspect welds and identify acceptable and unacceptable weld conditions.
• Minimum of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Experience working in a fabrication facility.
• Must retain a current CWI certification or can achieve CWI in 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret shop drawings.
• Support the IQR process and help facilitate it.
• Support internal quality checks and perform spot audits; train as needed to educate and correct deficiencies.
• Seek continuous improvement with emphasis on safety, quality, cost, and productivity.
• Manage, coordinate and improve the division Quality Control Program.
• Work night shift 6p–6a (3–4 shifts per week) and cover other shifts when needed.
• Be legally authorized to work in the US; no visa sponsorship now or in the future; uphold safety policies and housekeeping standards.

Basic Job Functions

• This position is for continental night shift 6p - 6a (3-4 shifts a week) but must be willing to fill inspection needs on other shifts when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with inspection of metal building systems components Previous experience in manufacturing metal buildings.


• Current NDT Level I or Level II using UT (weld inspection) Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
