Job summary

Nucor Corporation in Illinois (American Buildings Company - IL) is seeking a skilled inspector to verify welded and fabricated structural parts, ensuring correct assembly and packing accuracy across departments. You will keep calibration and weld logs up to date and drive quality improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to achieve AWS CWI certification within 1 year.
• Ability to obtain NDT UT Level I certification within 2 years.
• Preference for prior knowledge of structural line job functions.
• Current weld certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect completed fabricated and welded structural parts to ensure proper assembly.
• Perform routine inspections of manufactured products and verify packing accuracy across all departments.
• Maintain and update tool calibration and personnel weld certification logs.
• Able to track and investigate Quality Records (QSRs and IQRs).
• Lead quality initiatives and improvements within production processes.
• Support continental 12-hour shifts and fill inspection needs on other shifts when required.

Base Rate for this position is $31.97 - $47.23/ hour.

This position is eligible for annual bonuses.

Annual Return on Assests Bonus Percentage (ROA) (5 year average) = 20.7% of eligible earnings

All Nucor teammates qualify for profit sharing.

Annual Profit Sharing Bonus Percentage (5 year average) = 20.4% of eligible earnings

Basic Job Functions:

• Inspect completed fabricated and welded structural parts to ensure they have been properly assembled using tapes and other measuring devices.
• Perform routine inspections of manufactured products and verify packing accuracy across all departments at the facility.
• Maintain and update tool calibration and personnel weld certification logs.
• Able to track and investigate Quality Records (QSR’s and IQR’s)
• Lead quality initiatives and improvements within production processes.
• This position is for continental shifts 12 hours (3-4 shifts a week) but must be willing to fill inspection needs on other shifts when necessary.

• Ability to achieve AWS CWI certification within 1 year.
