Job Summary

The Quality Technician II is an essential position to assure food safety and quality standards for all product manufactured within the facility. Responsible for providing quality oversight to all areas of manufacturing to ensure all food products are processed in accordance with GMP's. The Quality Technician II will be responsible for assessing, investigating, and effectively resolving manufacturing issues in conjunction with subject matter experts and in accordance with standard operating procedures.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain quality standards to assure that manufactured finished goods conform to specific parameters that define product quality

  • Collect and maintain acceptable quality levels on stored finished goods

  • Problem solving in support of non-conforming product disposition

  • Inspect incoming raw material / ingredients

  • Perform scheduled finished good line inspections on all running production lines continuously throughout shift

  • Skills in quality techniques and terminology for these evaluations as well as skills for small project management are valued

  • Able to performs routine inspections of raw or finished goods to determine compliance to appropriate documents (work order, work instructions, SPX/SAP requirements, drawings, visual standards., line release forms, etc) for all product types within the facility

  • Timely resolution of product (or testing) issues so as ensure minimal production schedule impact

  • Report food safety issues to Management

  • Raw Material and Finished Good hold and release in SAP as needed

  • Document and investigate food safety issues as directed

  • Conduct Internal Audits as directed

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures

  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Profile

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Bachelor's Degree in a science related field preferred

  • 2 years of experience in quality control and assurance in an FDA regulated industry strongly preferred

  • Certifications an advantage including Quality Auditor, Quality Improvement Associate, Six Sigma, HACCP, GFSI, PCQI is preferred

  • SAP/S4 experience is preferred

Required Skills

  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude

  • Must be able to interact with all levels of people within the organization

  • Strong communication skills are required - written and verbal

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office

  • Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of Quality Assurance

  • Ability to accommodate flexibility in the work schedule
