Job summary

Rockford Ball Screw Co. is seeking a Quality Technician I to analyze and solve quality problems, prepare inspection plans, perform audits, and apply statistical methods for process control.

You will inspect and test products, generate documentation, support calibration and GR&R studies, and assist with corrective actions while adhering to ISO standards. Overtime may be required in peak periods.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma/GED equivalent or significant relevant work experience.
• 1-6 years of experience within quality control in a manufacturing environment practicing ISO 9001.
• Average computer literacy, specifically Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Capable of using measuring instruments (micrometer, calipers, gauges).
• Capable of using required hand tools.
• Ability to read/write, perform basic arithmetic, and follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform product inspections and testing to meet customer and RBS quality specs, generating inspection reports and certificates of conformance.
• Perform First Piece, In-Process, Incoming Receiving, Final Inspections, and other required tests.
• Support scrap/re-work with proper documentation and corrective action.
• Operate CMM to ensure accurate measurements and compliance.
• Maintain calibration system: keep instruments calibrated and documented.
• Participate in heat treat sampling and micro hardness testing as trained.
• Conduct GR&R studies as required.
• Assist with ISO Quality System requirements and process audits.
• Assist with Corrective Action Process.
• Move parts using appropriate mobility tools, including manual handling and powered lift trucks.
• Cross-train others within the department.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment per policies.
