Job Summary

The Quality Tech is responsible for ensuring that all elements of food safety within the Quality Monitoring Scheme are being met. Ensures that all regulatory, customer, and company quality initiatives are being met and maintained.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Perform quality checks on production lines in a timely and accurate fashion every hour per line, often responsible for 3 lines simultaneously.
  • Report discrepancies with the QMS to the Supervisor or Quality Manager, including HACCP, Allergen programs, Sanitation procedures, GMP findings, Foreign Material findings, and HOLD procedures.
  • Ensure product compliance with all legal and customer requirements as outlined in the Bluebook.
  • Complete paperwork accurately and promptly each day.
  • Maintain 5-S standards and keep work areas clean.
  • Keep all operational information confidential.
  • Maintain instrumentation and equipment in good condition.
  • Label, store, and organize samples and product retentions.
  • Follow Hold Procedures for non-conforming materials or products.
  • Perform HACCP and Preventive Controls checks as needed.
  • Assist in test runs and new product trials.
  • Conduct other audits or inspections as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimal Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; post-high school education preferred.
  • At least 3 months of experience as a Quality Assurance Technician required; 1 year preferred.
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify defects on fast-moving lines.
  • Basic understanding of machinery operation related to quality and adjustments.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Adherence to safety procedures.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to machines, noise, and temperature variations.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds occasionally and work long durations standing or sitting.
  • Availability for overtime, shift work, and cross-shift work as needed.

Sponsorship is not available. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the location.

Starting Pay: Level I - $18.55/hr., Level II - $21.10/hr., with shift differentials for 3rd shift. Benefits include health, dental, 401k, and wellness programs starting after 90 days.
