Job summary

MSI Express, Inc. is seeking a Quality Technician on the 2nd shift to ensure product quality through daily line audits and adherence to customer and federal standards. You will approve batches, monitor core checks and ensure safety and quality across processes.

The role requires basic lab skills, ability to use testing equipment, and strong attention to documentation. Strong communication and teamwork are essential in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb and/or sit frequently or through the duration of the shift.
• Have appropriate eye, hand and foot coordination to properly use various equipment and/or tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Pass all company testing.
• Ability to follow written directions.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to read and write effectively.
• Ability to process quality documentation accurately and within a timely manner.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Approve/correct batches – a mastery of basic lab techniques and use of testing equipment.
• Perform lab checks – ensure SOPs are followed and items monitored.
• Perform pre-ops and Preventive Control (PC) checks.
• Notify up line if a noncompliance is found per SOP and notify appropriate personnel.
• Perform all required analytical tests (e.g., VC, Salt, Brix, pH, DS meter, TA, Vit C) and compare batch against control.
• Perform all required physical tests of raw materials and finished product per procedures.
• Perform special audits as needed for raw materials or product on hold.
• This position has responsibility for Food Safety and Quality within their influence.
• Report Food Safety and Quality problems to authority promptly.
• Follow all company policies including safety practices.
• Coach production associates on line data collections.
• Perform any other duties as instructed by management.
