Job summary

Aptar is seeking a Quality Technician I for the 2nd shift to be based in Cary, IL. This fully onsite role involves performing random audits, COA testing, and root-cause analysis to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.

You will use SAP and MS Office tools, read blueprints, and train production staff on quality procedures. The position requires two years of related experience and a HS diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Technical certifications in quality, manufacturing or related field are a plus.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an Operator or equivalent manufacturing or quality experience.

Responsibilities

Aptar is seeking a Quality Technician I - 2nd Shift based in Cary, IL. This position is fully onsite.

Shift: 2nd Shift: 4:15pm – 12:45am (M-F).

As a Quality Technician You Will:

• Perform random audits on procedures and finished product to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Conduct functional testing of product and measurements using appropriate inspection and testing equipment.
• Assist manufacturing employees and management with backtracking and troubleshooting quality-related issues impacting product quality or customer requirements.
• Participate in sub-plant problem solving activities including CAPA, A3, 8D, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform Certificate of Analysis (COA) testing of finished products as required.
• Review and approve COAs and coordinate communication with customers.
• Certify the quality training for production employees, including testing procedures, inspections and defect identification standards.
• Provide training and re-enforcement of quality-related work instructions and procedures.
• Enter, evaluate and close Quality Notifications (QN), including making appropriate disposition decisions.
• Provide backup support to other team members as necessary.
• May assist with internal and external audits as required.
• Execute SAP quality-related transactions and maintain accurate system records.

Who We Are Looking For

• Basic math skills required.
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical thinking skills, with the ability to investigate quality issues and support root cause analysis.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English to effectively understand and communicate quality and production information.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, inspection gauges, and precision measurement tools, including calipers, pin gauges, and microscopes
• Intermediate computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook); SAP experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks reaching above shoulder level for periods of time.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, push, pull, grasp, twist, and climb steps throughout the shift.
• Visual acuity sufficient to perform detailed inspections, with the a bility to distinguish between shades and subtle color variations in component materials
• Ability to hear and respond to warning signals and verbal alerts in a manufacturing environment.

Required Qualifications

Education

High School diploma or GED require

Technical certifications in quality, manufacturing or related field are a plus

Experience

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an Operator or equivalent manufacturing or quality experience.
