Job summary

Aptar seeks a Quality Technician I for the 3rd shift in Cary, IL. This onsite role focuses on quality audits, COA testing, and continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment.

You will review COAs, train production staff on quality procedures, and participate in audits as needed. Proficiency in English, math, and basic SAP functions supports daily operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Technical certifications in quality, manufacturing or related field are a plus.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an Operator or equivalent manufacturing or quality experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform random audits on procedures and finished product to ensure quality standards.
• Conduct functional testing of product and measurements using inspection equipment.
• Assist manufacturing with backtracking and troubleshooting quality issues.
• Participate in CAPA, A3, 8D and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform COA testing of finished products as required.
• Review and approve COAs and coordinate communication with customers.
• Certify quality training for production employees and procedures.
• Provide training on quality work instructions and procedures.
• Enter, evaluate and close Quality Notifications (QN).
• Provide backup support to team members.
• May assist with internal and external audits.
• Execute SAP quality-related transactions and maintain records.

Aptar is seeking aQuality Technician I - 3rd Shiftbased in Cary, IL. This position is fully onsite.

As a Quality Technician You Will:

• Perform random audits on procedures and finished product to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Conduct functional testing of product and measurements using appropriate inspection and testing equipment.
• Assist manufacturing employees and management with backtracking and troubleshooting quality-related issues impacting product quality or customer requirements.
• Participate in sub-plant problem solving activities including CAPA, A3, 8D, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform Certificate of Analysis (COA) testing of finished products as required.
• Review and approve COAs and coordinate communication with customers.
• Certify the quality training for production employees, including testing procedures, inspections and defect identification standards.
• Provide training and re-enforcement of quality-related work instructions and procedures.
• Enter, evaluate and close Quality Notifications (QN), including making appropriate disposition decisions.
• Provide backup support to other team members as necessary.
• May assist with internal and external audits as required.
• Execute SAP quality-related transactions and maintain accurate system records.

Who We Are Looking For

• Basic math skills required.
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical thinking skills, with the ability to investigate quality issues and support root cause analysis.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English to effectively understand and communicate quality and production information.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, inspection gauges, and precision measurement tools, including calipers, pin gauges, and microscopes
• Intermediate computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook); SAP experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks reaching above shoulder level for periods of time.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, push, pull, grasp, twist, and climb steps throughout the shift.
• Visual acuity sufficient to perform detailed inspections, with the ability to distinguish between shades and subtle color variations in component materials
• Ability to hear and respond to warning signals and verbal alerts in a manufacturing environment.

Required Qualifications

Education

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the range for this role is $19.00 - $25.00 per hour.
