Stored Energy Systems in Longmont, CO is seeking a Quality Technician I for 1st shift to inspect materials and finished products, perform audits, and support quality systems on the production floor.

You will verify drawings and specifications, record results, and assist with corrective actions. The role requires reading drawings, attention to detail, and basic electrical checks, with a competitive hourly wage.

Qualifications

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, email, etc.).
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection of incoming materials and components using standard measurement tools and inspection techniques.
  • Verify conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Conduct in-process inspections to ensure product quality throughout manufacturing.
  • Perform final inspections and OOBA on finished products and packaging.
  • Interpret mechanical drawings, circuit diagrams, and bills of materials to determine acceptance criteria.
  • Perform basic electrical checks as required.
  • Record inspection results in quality systems and databases.
  • Verify proper control of nonconforming materials and adherence to quality procedures.
  • Audit compliance with ESDS handling practices.
  • Review preventive maintenance logs and verify completion and accuracy.
  • Check calibration status of measurement and test equipment used in production.
  • Document audit findings, including photographic evidence where applicable.
  • Identify, document, and communicate nonconformances and quality concerns.
  • Initiate or support corrective action requests and root cause investigations.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues.
  • Assist in maintaining calibration records and supporting calibration verification activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of inspection methods, audit processes, and quality systems.

1st Shift: Mon-Thu 6:00am – 3:30pm and Fri 6:00am – 10:00am

Summary

The Quality Technician I is responsible for ensuring product and process quality across incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods. This role performs inspections, audits, and documentation activities to verify conformance to engineering specifications, quality standards, and internal procedures.

In addition to inspection responsibilities, the Quality Technician I provides quality oversight on the production floor through routine audits, Out-of-Box Audits (OOBA), and verification of quality system practices such as calibration, document control, and material status tracking. This position plays a key role in identifying quality issues and supporting corrective actions.

Responsibilities
  • Perform inspection of incoming materials and components using standard measurement tools and inspection techniques.
  • Verify conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Conduct in-process inspections to ensure product quality throughout manufacturing.
  • Perform final inspections and Out-of-Box Audits (OOBA) on finished products and packaging.
  • Interpret mechanical drawings, circuit diagrams, and bills of materials to determine acceptance criteria.
  • Perform basic electrical checks (e.g., continuity, parameter verification) as required.
  • Record inspection results in quality systems and databases.
Product & Process Auditing
  • Verify proper control of nonconforming materials and adherence to quality procedures.
  • Ensure correct revision of controlled documents is being used in production.
  • Audit compliance with Electrostatic Discharge Sensitive (ESDS) handling practices.
  • Review preventive maintenance logs and verify completion and accuracy.
  • Check calibration status of measurement and test equipment used in production.
  • Document audit findings, including photographic evidence where applicable.
Quality Systems & Improvement
  • Identify, document, and communicate nonconformances and quality concerns.
  • Initiate or support corrective action requests (CARs) and root cause investigations.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues.
  • Assist in maintaining calibration records and supporting calibration verification activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of inspection methods, audit processes, and quality systems.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience in quality inspection, auditing, or manufacturing quality roles.
  • Working knowledge of quality inspection methods, audit practices, and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with GD&T principles and ASME Y14.5 standards.
  • Experience in a low- to medium-volume, high-mix electro-mechanical manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience performing product audits or Out-of-Box Audits (OOBA).
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience using precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers, height gauges and dial indicators, thread gauges and pin gauges, and basic electrical measurement tools (e.g., digital multimeter).

Location: This position is located on-site in Longmont, CO.

Base Compensation:$28 - $34 is the projected hourly wage for this role and will be determined on the candidate’s overall qualifications and experience.

Bonus: This position is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
