Job summary

Stored Energy Systems (SENS) in Longmont, CO, is seeking an OpEx Technician I to drive continuous improvement across the manufacturing floor. You will support Kaizen events, lean initiatives, and collaborate with production teams to implement safe, efficient workstation upgrades.

The role emphasizes data-driven problem solving, standardized work, and sustaining improvements across lines with collaboration from engineering, maintenance, safety, and quality teams.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience with hand tools and power tools.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Proficiency with MS Office: Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Kaizen workshops focused on process optimization, waste elimination, and operational efficiency.
  • Build and commission ergonomic and efficient production workstations using lean principles.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement improvements that support standardized work and reduce waste.
  • Work with production teams to collect data and identify operational problems and bottlenecks leveraging Lean tools.
  • Analyze current manufacturing processes and recommend improvements to reduce cycle time, increase throughput, and improve quality.
  • Ensure that successful improvements are documented, standardized, and sustained across production lines.
  • Collaborate with frontline workers to participate in continuous improvement efforts and contribute ideas for workstation and process enhancements.
  • Work closely with engineering, maintenance, safety, and quality teams to ensure workstation designs meet operational and compliance requirements.

The OpEx Technician I (Operational Excellence Technician I) is responsible for implementing identified continuous improvement action items across the manufacturing floor. This role supports Kaizen events, lean transformation, and collaborates with production teams to implement workstation improvements that enhance safety, efficiency, and quality.

Responsibilities

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience working with hand tools and power tools.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Proficiency with MS office tools: Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement roles.
  • Experience with CAD tools, workstation design software, and 3D printing.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and strong spatial reasoning skills.

August 29th . While we anticipate keeping this position open through this date, the posting may be extended or closed earlier depending on applicant volume and hiring needs.

Base Compensation:

$23.50 - $26.50 per hour is the projected compensation range for this role depending on the candidate’s overall qualifications and experience.

Bonus:

This position is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
