QUALITY TECHNICIAN I

Salary Range: $25.00 To $30.00 Hourly

General Description:

The Quality Technician I position will test materials and finished products to ensure they conform to all applicable laws and Reliant Systems, Inc. standards as well as customer and regulatory requirements. This position tests products across the three stages of production (before, in-process, and final) to ensure quality levels are met on parts, components, and assembly systems. This position will work on a variety of product assemblies. The Quality Technician I will support Engineering and operations for day-to-day inspection tasks and track & maintain inspection equipment.

This is accomplished through the following essential functions:

  • Inspect and approve incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Approve finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.
  • Complete nonconformance reports and logs, summarize re-work and waste, and input data into a Quality Database.
  • Complete inventory transfers of nonconforming parts.
  • Manage and conduct the Material Review Board meetings and document dispositions along with rework or repair instructions.
  • Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions & calibration requirements and calling for repairs.
  • Assist in calibration efforts.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards & procedures and complying with legal regulations.
  • Accomplish quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Assist Engineering in collecting data for statistical analysis and qualification/validation purposes.
  • Read, interpret, and communicate customer requirements (prints).
  • Backup to on demand build inspections.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervising Manager and members of Executive Management.

Work Experience & Knowledge Requirements:

  • Experience with ISO requirements is desired.
  • MS office including Word and Excel.
Education Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED and 3 or more years of relevant experience, at a minimum, or
  • Associate Degree in Quality Technician and 1 or more years of relevant experience, or
  • Certification as a Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or equivalent certification and 1 or more years of relevant experience.
