Job summary

Ascentek in the USA is seeking a Quality Control Technician I to support blending and packaging of high-performance lubricants. You will test product properties, ensure quality integrity, and assist with used oil analysis as part of a cross-functional team.

The role is hourly, full-time, with opportunities for training and career advancement. Strong lab practices and effective communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Requires safe laboratory practices.
• Requires strong oral, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to perform calculations for proportions/solutions.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
• Basic knowledge of industrial lubricants and testing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Test chemical and physical properties of finished lubricants using lab equipment.
• Communicate and collaborate with production team to address quality issues and write deviations.
• Perform packaging line audits with checklist.
• Clean and stock laboratory materials.
• Dispose of expired quality samples.
• Calibrate and validate laboratory instrumentation.
• Prepare calibration standards.
• Assist in used oil analysis with Chemist as needed.
• Provide certification of analysis when required.
• Support continuous improvement projects in quality control.

The Quality Control Technician I will support the blending and packaging functions of our high-performance petroleum products. This role is responsible for ensuring the fluid quality and integrity of products produced by testing the physical and chemical properties of the materials against specifications. Additionally, the quality technician I will be responsible for assistance with Ascentek's used oil analysis program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Test chemical and physical properties of finished lubricants utilizing necessary lab equipment

• Communicate and collaborate with production team to correct quality issues and write deviations

• Perform packaging line audits with audit checklist

• Cleaning and stocking of the laboratory materials

• Disposal of expired quality samples

• Calibration and validation of laboratory instrumentation

• Preparation of calibration standards

• Used oil analysis assistance through collaboration with Chemist where applicable

• Required to provide certification of analysis when necessary

• Assisting in quality control continuous improvement projects as needed

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED

Experience and/or Training:

• Requires an individual who engages in safe laboratory practices
• Requires strong oral, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills
• Requires the ability to perform calculations for proportions/solutions
• Requires the ability to work independently to organize work and manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines
• A basic knowledge of industrial lubricants, product formulation and testing experience is preferred

Physical, Mental and Environment demands:

• Sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, push/pull, climb, and lift up to 45 lbs.
• Requires good vision, focus, and hand coordination.
• Work in office, laboratory, and production areas with moderate noise.
• Possible exposure to chemicals, fumes, vapors, and mists.
• PPE required: safety glasses, gloves, lab coat/safety vest, long pants, and closed-toe shoes.
