Job summary

HellermannTyton is seeking a Quality Assurance Lab Technician to join the Milwaukee area team. Under the Quality Lab Supervisor’s direction, this role conducts testing, dimensional analysis, and supports other departments while maintaining TS16949/ISO14001/EMS certifications.

Overtime including some weekend hours is required, and you will mentor operators on product quality. You will handle SPC data, PPAP/PPC testing, and maintain QA records to ensure compliance with corporate policies and

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year prior lab experience preferred.
  • Good math and communication skills.
  • Good vision.
  • Mic and caliper knowledge preferred.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Bend over to lift 50lbs; ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
  • All employees entering the Manufacturing area and other identified locations must wear the designated PPE; wearing PPE is a condition of employment.
  • Ability to work daily and weekend overtime to meet department needs.

Responsibilities

  • Understand Customer Expectations as they relate to Product Quality.
  • Thrive in and help support a Team Atmosphere.
  • Mentor Operators regarding the quality of the product.
  • Perform 1st Piece Inspection of the manufactured product.
  • Perform in-process inspection of manufactured product.
  • Perform product-specific tests, including but not limited to tensile.
  • Moisture analysis on manufactured products as well as incoming materials.
  • Verify Material Certification and Approve raw material.
  • Enter and edit SPC data in the SPC computer file.
  • File all QA records and samples (obsolete and current).
  • Use incoming color chip samples to verify the colorant in receiving.
  • Handle non-conforming material isolation and documentation.
  • Perform a dimensional layout referencing theHellermannTyton drawing.
  • Use SPC software.
  • Record all inspection and test data.
  • Weigh parts.
  • Use control plans.
  • PPAP and PPC testing.
  • Assist in maintaining HellermannTyton's Quality and Environmental certification by supporting corporate policies, procedures, work instructions and required documentation.

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Quality Lab Supervisor, with guidance from the Quality Lab Tech Lead, the Quality Assurance Lab Technician is responsible for the completion of testing and inspection, dimensional analysis, and support of other departments within HellermannTyton. This position requires the Technician to be able to complete product/process inspections in a product environment as well as a lab environment while managing files and software. Overtime will be required, including some weekend hours. This position will also maintain HellermannTyton's TS16949/ISO14001/EMS certifications by supporting all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, and required documentation.
