Job summary

McDonald Plastic Molding is seeking a Quality Layout Technician to perform first article inspections on new and transferred parts, and to assist in creating quality processes and CMM programs. The role emphasizes blueprint reading, gage selection, and process capability studies in a collaborative, safety‑driven environment.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED with related experience, knowledge of blueprint reading, and preferably CMM layout experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with related experience (6 months to 1 year).
• Knowledge of blueprint reading and CMM layout a plus.
• Ability to create quality documentation and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform first article inspections on new and transferred parts.
• Create bubbled prints and FAIR forms for inspection.
• Determine inspection methods and measure parts.
• Create vertex programs as needed and perform annual layouts.
• Maintain SPC data and support FMEA, control plans, and flow charts.
