Job summary

McDonald Plastic Molding in Wisconsin seeks a quality inspector to support inspection planning and measurement activities. You will create bubbled prints and FAIR forms, determine methods for part measurement, and develop vertex programs as needed.

The role includes first article inspections, layout work, gauge and fixture setup, Gage R&R, and SPC data maintenance. A safe, collaborative environment is emphasized at this manufacturing site.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; 6 months to 1 year related experience or training.
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading is a plus; prior CMM layout experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Create bubbled prints and FAIR Forms.
  • Determine inspection methods to measure parts.
  • Create Vertex Programs if needed.
  • Perform First Article Inspections and Annual Layouts.
  • Construct or obtain gauges and fixtures.
  • Perform process capability studies and gage R&R studies.
  • Contribute to FMEA, control plans, and flow charts.
  • Create limits and workmanship standards.
  • Train employees in inspection methods and procedures.
  • Develop work instructions for difficult measurements.
  • Recommend changes to inspection guides as needed.
  • Review current inspection methods and process capabilities.
  • Be available for gage calibration backup.
  • Maintain SPC software and data.
  • Strategic planning for growth of McDonald Plastic Molding.
  • Participate in training and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Perform duties with a positive, collaborative attitude.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create bubbled prints and FAIR Forms
  • Determine Inspection Methods to be used to measure parts
  • Create Vertex Programs if needed
  • Perform First Article Inspections \ Annual Layouts
  • Construct / obtain gages and fixtures
  • Perform process capability studies
  • Perform gage R & R studies
  • Help aid in the creation of FMEA, control plan, and flow charts
  • Create limit / workmanship standards
  • Employee training of inspection methods
  • Create work instructions for difficult measurements
  • Recommend needed inspection guide changes
  • Review current inspection methods and process capabilities
  • Be available for gage calibration back-up
  • Perform annual layouts and gage R & R studies if required
  • Maintain SPC software / data

Strategic planning for the growth and success of McDonald Plastic Molding.

  • Participate in-group and individual training.
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner while supporting and encouraging the company’s safety culture.

Perform other duties as required or directed by management.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); and six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of blueprint reading and prior CMM layout experience a plus.
