Job summary

NEL Frequency Controls seeks a Quality Technician - Electronics to uphold stringent quality standards on the manufacturing floor, inspecting components and assemblies with precision tools and microscopes to ensure conformance with specifications.

You will document results, support root-cause analysis, and collaborate with engineering and production to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement while maintaining regulatory and company quality standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in electronics or related field preferred.
  • Experience with electronic testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and soldering tools.
  • Ability to use a microscope for inspection.
  • Basic understanding of electronic components, circuits, and assembly processes.
  • Familiarity with quality control principles, inspection techniques, and documentation standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process and final inspections of electronic components and assemblies using precision measurement tools, test equipment, and microscope.
  • Conduct functional and environmental testing to verify product performance against design specifications.
  • Document inspection results, test data, and non-conforming product reports accurately and timely in compliance with quality management systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by analyzing quality trends and recommending process enhancements to reduce defects and improve efficiency.

Job description

The Quality Technician - Electronics plays a critical hands‑on role on the manufacturing floor, in ensuring that electronic products meet stringent quality standards and customer expectations. This position involves conducting detailed inspections, testing, and analysis of electronic components and assemblies to identify defects or deviations from specifications. The technician collaborates closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives. By maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to regulatory and company quality standards, the technician helps safeguard product reliability and safety. Ultimately, this role contributes to delivering high‑quality electronic products that enhance customer satisfaction and support the company’s reputation in the marketplace.

About the Role: Full-Time, On-site at our Burlington, WI, location
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in electronics or related field preferred.
  • Experience with electronic testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and soldering tools.
  • Ability to use a microscope for inspection.
  • Basic understanding of electronic components, circuits, and assembly processes.
  • Familiarity with quality control principles, inspection techniques, and documentation standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical certification or associate degree in electronics technology, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., ISO 9001, IPC standards).
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and root cause analysis methodologies to enhance the technician’s ability to contribute to process improvements and defect reduction initiatives.
  • Proficiency with quality management software and data analysis tools.
  • Strong documentation skills to ensure that inspection results and quality issues are recorded clearly, supporting traceability and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Work Environment & Expectations
  • Hourly position; overtime may be required based on production needs
