Job summary

Colgate-Palmolive’s Hill's Pet Nutrition unit in Tonganoxie, KS seeks a Quality Technician - Chemist on 2nd/3rd shift. You will own analytical testing from raw materials to finished products, driving the quality systems that ensure nutritionally superior pet food.

Training starts on day shift for 2–3 months before permanent rotation. Responsibilities include handling laboratory instruments, sample prep, SAP duties, and QA CAPA activities.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Chemistry, Food Science or related field.
• Ability to work any work schedule, including weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Ensures safety and EOHS compliance.
• Operates/assists in lab instrument installation and qualification.
• Analyzes ingredients and finished products for moisture, fat, protein, ash, minerals.
• Performs routine peroxide value, free fatty acid, and mycotoxin testing.
• Maintains laboratory equipment and calibrations.
• Adheres to HACCP, SOPs and document control.
• Develops CAPA analyses for out-of-spec results.
• Orders lab supplies and manages budget goals.
• Maintains SAP data flows for audits and traceability.
