Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operational inspections to verify equipment and production areas are clean, sanitary, and ready for startup.
• Conduct quality inspections and testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
• Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Document inspection and test results accurately and maintain quality records.Identify, report, and support resolution of quality and food safety issues.
• Conduct GMP, sanitation, and environmental monitoring audits.
• Support investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner with Production, Maintenance, and Operations teams to maintain product quality and compliance.
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory standards

Education

What You'll Do

The Quality Technician plays a critical role in ensuring products meet quality, food safety, regulatory, and customer requirements throughout the manufacturing process. This position supports production operations by conducting inspections, testing, monitoring processes, and verifying compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), sanitation standards, and company quality systems.

Key responsibilities include

• Perform pre-operational (Pre-Op) inspections to verify equipment and production areas are clean, sanitary, and ready for startup.
• Conduct quality inspections and testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
• Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Document inspection and test results accurately and maintain quality records.Identify, report, and support resolution of quality and food safety issues.

What We Look For

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, or Chemistry or related experience ideal.
• 2-3 years in Quality role in food, pharma or chemical production experience preferred
• Formerly trained in HACCP (hazard analysis critical control point system) and able to effectively train essential plant employees in HACCP principles and SQF principles ideal.
• Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP.
• Knowledge or experience of FDA, Local, State, Federal regulations pertinent for the manufacturing facility.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
• Ability to analyze and assess training and development needs.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
• Skill in examining operations and procedures and implementing new strategies and procedures.

What We Offer

The hiring range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00 per hour. Kerry typically does not hire an individual at the top or near the top of the range, as we are a pay-for-performance company, and this range is set to continue to reward performance annually while in role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate within the above range may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
