Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist in reducing manufacturing and vendor inefficiencies through product testing and inspection to conformance.
  • Read specs, blueprints and engineering documents; verify parts prior to inspection using SAP/Windchill.
  • Inform managers of defects to ensure prompt action.
  • Review processes with audits to reduce failures and costs.
  • Maintain inspection and test equipment per procedures and calibrations.
  • Log audit findings and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support HQMS documentation and training as needed.

Job Description Summary:

The Quality Assurance Inspector shall support theQuality/Engineering Department(s)byassistingin the reduction of manufacturing and vendor inefficiencies through the product testing and inspection to conformance ofNewell Brands -Quickie standard engineering and quality requirements.

Job Description:
  • Needs to help promotesafework environment and meet Plant Safety goals and ensure SEAL requirements are effectively executed.
  • Ability to read& understandSpec.sheet(Windchilldatabase system – ECN’s, blueprints[drawings], and Engineering Specifications) and useSAPsystem and verify the partsrequiredprior to inspection.
  • Inform managers/supervisors of any part or equipment defects to ensure prompt response to theconcern /problem.
  • Review internal processes and procedures using auditresultstocorrectoperating issues, customer concerns,and reduce cost of failures.
  • Support personnel to ensure the attainment of goals set for overall quality/customer initiatives with a focus on Quality Assurance/Control initiatives.
  • Maintains inspection, measuring and test equipmentin accordance withdocumentedprocedures,calibration.
  • Maintains records for products/raw material audits, calibrations, and nonconforming products through the useof computer software & database programs.
  • Coordinate quality issuesfrom the beginning to full completionwithappropriate personnel.
  • Conductdaily Process / ProductAudit(s),key in theauditfindingsintoacomputerprogramand report out finding(s)/results.
  • Support& help trainpersonnel with QMS requirements.
  • Maintain HQMS system.
  • UpdateQuality documents as needed.Document Control knowledge is a plus.
  • Establish/ drivecontinuous improvements projects/processes.
  • Will be expected to perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor(s).
Experience:
  • Participationin monthly plant safety meetings.
  • Candidate must be able to work in a team environment& willingto help others succeed.
  • Ability to accurately use measurement devices such as calipers, tape measures, and weight scales.
  • Candidate must be able to work independently.
  • Superior organization and attention to detail.
  • Advanced mathematical and analytical problem solving skills.
  • StrongQAlab skills, handdexterityandproficiencywith precision equipment.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Solidfamiliarity with computers, good command of Microsoft Word and Excel, andtheability to use databases.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be able to spendlong periodsof shifts standing, squatting, bending, and walking.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical skills and ability to understand blueprints, documents, work instructions and manuals.
  • Knowledge of basic math and computer skills.
  • Ability to influence others to follow rules and regulations.
  • Strong leadership skills and teamwork mentality.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to pass and maintain forklift certification is required for this role. A current driver’s license is required for forklift certification.
