Overview

The Quality Technician supports manufacturing operations or Quality Engineering by testing and inspecting products at various stages of production. They compile and evaluate data to maintain product quality and reliability.

Responsibilities

1. Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, or standards to inspect or test products for conformance.
2. Select products for testing at specified stages and evaluate qualities such as dimensions, performance, mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.
3. Record test data and apply statistical process control procedures where applicable.
4. Document reports to validate or identify deviations from standards.
5. Clean, repair, and calibrate inspection equipment as needed.
6. Set up and perform destructive and nondestructive tests to measure performance and material characteristics.
7. Prepare data graphs or charts and analyze data using computer software.
8. Operate measurement equipment like coordinate measuring machines, surface analyzers, hardness testers, etc.

Qualifications

Education & Experience: Associate's degree preferred; five years manufacturing experience or equivalent.

Skills: Ability to write reports, communicate effectively, apply mathematical concepts, and apply logical or scientific thinking.

Additional Qualifications: Willingness to learn SPC, GD&T, Metrology, CMM, and basic computer applications. Team player.

Physical Demands: Regular use of hands, talking, occasional standing/walking/sitting, lifting up to 10 lbs, and good vision.

Work Environment: Moderate noise, occasional proximity to moving mechanical parts, accommodations available for disabilities.
