Job summary

Teledyne FLIR Defense seeks professionals to support the West Lafayette site’s quality program, ensuring ISO 9001 standards and customer requirements are met while driving continuous improvement. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering and Operations to enhance product quality and processes.

The role involves developing quality standards, auditing compliance, data collection and analysis, and maintaining documentation and records.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related technical field preferred; equivalent quality experience may be considered.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a quality, manufacturing, production, or technical environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with quality systems, inspection processes, and continuous improvement concepts preferred.
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP/MRP systems preferred.
  • Experience in regulated manufacturing, defense, aerospace, or CBRNE environments is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and solve problems in a team-oriented environment.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and maintenance of quality standards, inspection methods, testing procedures, and documentation.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance to ISO 9001 requirements and support internal and external audits.
  • Collect, analyze, and report quality and reliability data to support process improvement efforts.
  • Create and maintain quality records, forms, work instructions, and related documentation.
  • Assist with sampling plans, inspections, testing, and evaluation of products and materials.
  • Support calibration and maintenance programs for production, test, and measurement equipment.
  • Participate in investigations of nonconforming material and assist with documentation, corrective actions, and disposition activities.
  • Work with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to identify and implement quality improvements.
  • Monitor quality performance metrics and help identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, safety, efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Perform other quality-related duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Support the West Lafayette site’s quality program by assisting with quality system activities, product inspections, testing, data analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role works closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations teams to help ensure products and processes meet company quality standards, customer requirements, and ISO 9001 standards while contributing to ongoing operational improvements.
