Job summary

Teledyne FLIR Defense is seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer to lead development and sustainment of production test systems. You will partner with Engineering and Operations to support new product introductions and continuous improvement, ensuring reliability across complex sensing solutions for defense applications.

You will design fixtures and diagnostic tools, debug failures across multiple levels, and mentor manufacturing personnel to achieve quality, throughput, and cost goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • 8+ years of manufacturing, test engineering, or production engineering experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capability.
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, microscopes, power supplies, and environmental test equipment.
  • Ability to read schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and sustain manufacturing test systems, fixtures, and diagnostic tools.
  • Provide technical leadership and engineering support to manufacturing operations

Job Summary

As a member of the Manufacturing Engineering team, the Manufacturing Test Engineer is responsible for development, deployment, sustainment, and continuous improvement of production test systems and processes. The role provides technical leadership to manufacturing, supports new product introduction, and serves as a key interface between Engineering and Operations.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities


  • Design, develop, implement, and sustain manufacturing test systems, fixtures, and diagnostic tools.

  • Provide technical leadership and engineering support to manufacturing operations

  • Debug and resolve failures at system, subsystem, PCB, and component levels.

  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions.

  • Support new product introduction and manufacturing readiness activities.

  • Develop test procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, throughput, and cost.

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations teams.

  • Mentor technicians and manufacturing personnel.


Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.

  • 8+ years of manufacturing, test engineering, or production engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, robotics, or unmanned systems.

  • NPI and manufacturing transfer experience.

  • Python, C, C++, or C# knowledge.

  • Mechatronics background is an asset

  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience.
