Job summary

Milo’s Tea Company is seeking a Quality Technician I to ensure consistent product quality by enforcing Milo’s stringent standards. The role involves sampling, testing, and verifying GMP/SQF compliance across production lines.

The candidate will maintain testing equipment, assist with raw material inspection, and document results while supporting sustainability initiatives and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • Requires Associate degree minimum; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Internet software.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all products are produced per Milo’s quality standards.
  • Obtain samples for bacteria plating and daily quality checks.
  • Monitor GMP or SQF requirements and food safety compliance.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and perform calibrations.
  • Assist with receipt of raw ingredients and testing.
  • Perform routine testing of weights, volumes, colors, and packaging integrity.
  • Conduct environmental testing of air, water, and bacteria.
  • Work overtime and weekends as required.
  • Contribute to Milo’s responsibility and sustainability programs.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Technician I will assure consistent quality of production by enforcing quality and manufacturing standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure all products are produced per Milo’s quality standards.
  • Obtain samples for bacteria plating and daily quality checks as needed.
  • Monitor compliance with and administer GMP or SQF requirements.
  • Ensure Food Safety and Food Quality compliance as directed.
  • Maintain all laboratory and testing equipment and perform calibrations per schedule.
  • Assist with the receipt of raw ingredients and sample, test and/or review.
  • Monitor FIFO and communicate concerns to the QA Manager.
  • Perform testing and document weights, volumes, colors, brix, codes, packaging integrity, and other routine testing as required.
  • Perform environmental testing of air, water, and bacteria according to schedules.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by the QA Manager.
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required.
  • Collect and prepare samples for shipment as needed.
  • Uphold and participate in all Corporate Responsibility programming including recycling, social advocacy and MMAD volunteering opportunities.
  • Invest in and is an example of Milo’s Responsibility commitment which includes environmental, social, and corporate governance components.
  • This position has responsibilities related to Food Safety and Quality.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Applicants must have an Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school minimum.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Food Science, Chemistry is preferred; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software including Microsoft Office Suite.
