Mykelly is seeking Electronics Quality Technicians I for a direct-hire role in Salt Lake City, UT. You will inspect, test, and support production of advanced radio communication tech designed for secure, reliable operation when traditional infrastructure is unavailable.

The position requires hands-on electronics experience, soldering and IPC familiarity, and strong documentation skills. Training in Los Angeles precedes deployment to Salt Lake City.

Formación

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ year hands-on electronics manufacturing, assembly, inspection, testing, repair or rework experience.
  • Basic soldering and electronic-component identification.
  • Experience with through-hole or surface-mount components.
  • Proficient with multimeters, microscopes, magnification equipment, hand tools, and basic testing equipment.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, circuit drawings and assembly instructions.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to document findings accurately.
  • Comfort with computers and quality/manufacturing systems.

Responsabilidades

  • Perform detailed visual and functional inspections of PCB assemblies.
  • Inspect PCB assemblies under magnification per IPC J-STD-001 and workmanship requirements.
  • Identify defects, soldering concerns, assembly discrepancies, contamination, damage, and nonconforming conditions.
  • Perform soldering, desoldering, and rework on through-hole and surface-mount components.
  • Identify electronic components and confirm correct placement and workmanship.
  • Read schematics and assembly docs, input inspection data into systems.
  • Support production testing and record inspection results accurately.
  • Use meters, microscopes, and basic testing equipment for inspections.

Help Establish Quality Standards at a Brand-New High-Tech Facility!

Kelly® is hiring Electronics Quality Technicians I for an exciting direct-hire opportunity in partnership with Silvus Technologies, a Motorola Solutions companyin Salt Lake City, Utah.

In this role, you’ll inspect, test, and support the production of advanced radio communication technology designed to remain operational when traditional infrastructure is unavailable. These products primarily support military applications, along with other industries that depend on secure and reliable communication.

You’ll inspect printed circuit board assemblies, identify workmanship concerns, perform soldering and rework, document quality results, and collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure every product meets established requirements.

DIRECT HIRE

Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Schedule: Monday–Friday; specific shift hours to be confirmed
Pay: $30.00–$32.00 per hour, based on experience
Work Environment: Fully onsite in a clean, organized, air-conditioned facility

4-6Weeksof Hands-On Training in Los Angeles
  • Fly to Los Angeles on Sunday evening
  • Fly home for the weekend

This training provides the opportunity to learn established inspection methods, soldering expectations, testing procedures, quality standards, and documentation systems before transitioning into the new Salt Lake City operation.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Performing detailed visual and functional inspections of printed circuit board assemblies
  • Inspecting PCB assemblies under magnification according to IPC J-STD-001 and applicable workmanship requirements
  • Identifying component defects, soldering concerns, assembly discrepancies, contamination, damage, and other nonconforming conditions
  • Performing soldering, desoldering, and rework on through-hole and surface-mount components
  • Identifying electronic components and confirming correct placement, orientation, and workmanship
  • Reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, circuit drawings, assembly documentation, and work instructions
  • Supporting production testing and accurately recording inspection and test results
  • Using multimeters, microscopes, magnification equipment, hand tools, and basic electronic test equipment
  • Assisting with basic troubleshooting of electronic assemblies
  • Documenting defects, nonconforming conditions, repairs, rework, and inspection findings
  • Collecting and entering quality data for analysis and continuous-improvement activities
  • Entering inspection and production information into computer systems
  • Using programs such as Oracle, Excel, and Google Workspace
  • Maintaining accurate electronic quality records and traceability documentation
  • Following ESD controls and approved procedures for handling sensitive electronic components
  • Maintaining clean, organized, and ESD-safe inspection and rework areas
  • Supporting the calibration, organization, and routine maintenance of quality-laboratory equipment
  • Communicating quality concerns to Production, Engineering, and Quality leadership
  • Supporting investigations involving defects, test failures, or recurring workmanship concerns
  • Helping implement corrective actions and process improvements
  • Supporting consistent workmanship and product-quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
This Position May Be a Great Fit If You
  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Have at least one year of hands-on electronics manufacturing, assembly, inspection, testing, repair, or rework experience
  • Can perform basic soldering and electronic-component identification
  • Have experience with through-hole or surface-mount electronic components
  • Are comfortable using multimeters, microscopes, magnification equipment, hand tools, and basic testing equipment
  • Can read basic wiring diagrams, schematics, circuit drawings, and assembly instructions
  • Have strong attention to detail and can identify small workmanship or component defects
  • Can accurately document inspection findings, rework, defects, and testing results
  • Are comfortable using computers and learning new quality and manufacturing systems
  • Have strong data-entry and organizational skills
  • Are dependable and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
  • Can manage multiple inspections and priorities while maintaining accuracy
  • Work effectively with Quality, Production, and Engineering teams
  • Can complete approximately two weeks of training in Los Angeles
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current or previous IPC J-STD-001 certification or equivalent training
  • Training or experience involving IPC-A-610 or IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards
  • Experience inspecting PCB assemblies under magnification
  • Familiarity with IPC workmanship and acceptance standards
  • Experience soldering or reworking through-hole and surface-mount components
  • Basic understanding of RF and digital electronics
  • Experience with Linux- or Windows-based testing systems
  • Experience using Oracle, an ERP system, or quality-management software
  • Proficiency with Excel and Google Workspace
  • Previous electronics troubleshooting, repair, or failure-analysis experience
  • Experience working in an ESD-controlled electronics-manufacturing environment

  • Ability to perform detailed inspection and soldering work requiring sustained visual focus
  • Strong manual dexterity for handling small components and precision tools
  • Ability to safely handle sensitive electronic components
  • Comfort working in an indoor manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to varying temperatures
