Job description

Most Quality Technicians check parts. Ours get to own the calibration program and the CMMs behind it.

Position Overview

We are growing, and our Quality team needs someone who wants to own the lab, not just work in it. This is a hands‑on Quality Technician role in a precision manufacturing environment, where your inspections, your CMM programs, and your calibration records shape what leaves our floor. You will work shoulder to shoulder with our engineers on customer returns and root cause investigations for our water pump lines, and you will be the person machine operators and assembly techs come to when a spec needs to be crystal clear.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform precision dimensional inspections using manual and automated measurement tools, and build inspection plans directly from engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Program and operate CMMs (MCOSMOS and/or CALYPSO) for part validation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Lead and maintain our facility calibration program, keeping gages and inspection tools compliant and traceable.
  • Test and inspect returned water pumps, document findings, and collaborate with engineers on failure mode identification.
  • Develop and update inspection reports, instructions, and visual aids that operators and assemblers actually use.
  • Partner with production, maintenance, and quality teams to turn inspection findings into continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or GED, with an associate degree in a technical discipline or formal metrology training preferred.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in quality inspection or dimensional metrology, ideally with CMM programming.
  • Familiarity with calibration systems and equipment traceability.
  • A strong working understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and statistical sampling.
  • The ability to work independently, communicate findings clearly, and collaborate across teams.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.

This is a first shift, fully onsite role in Evansville, WI, paying $24 to $26 per hour depending on experience, with room to go higher for someone who brings leadership to the lab. Our benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, company-paid short-term disability and life insurance, long-term disability, a 401(k) with company match, paid vacation and holidays, and an employee assistance program.
