Job summary

Advance Turning & Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking experienced Quality Technicians for our Jackson, Michigan facility to inspect precision components and support production alongside machinists, engineers, and quality teams.

Responsibilities include first-piece and in-process inspections, using micrometers, height gauges, and CMMs, reading blueprints, and maintaining quality records. A strong eye for detail and problem-solving ability are essential for maintaining our high standards.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of quality inspection experience in a precision machining or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of dimensional inspection and measurement techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, and optical comparators.
  • CMM experience is a plus.
  • Experience with inspection documentation and quality records.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to identify problems, investigate root causes, and communicate solutions.

Advance Turning & Manufacturing, Inc. is a precision manufacturer serving the medical, aerospace, and other high-performance industries. We’re looking for experienced and detail-oriented Quality Technicians to join our team at our Jackson, Michigan facility.

Our Quality Technicians play an important role in ensuring that every component we produce meets our customers’ exacting standards. You’ll work closely with machinists, engineers, and production personnel to inspect precision components, identify potential issues, and help keep our processes running at a high level.

No two days are exactly the same. You’ll have the opportunity to work with complex components, challenging materials, and a variety of inspection equipment while supporting production from start to finish.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections of precision-machined components.
  • Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, CMMs, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
  • Verify dimensional accuracy, surface finishes, and other product specifications.
  • Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records.
  • Identify nonconforming material and work with production and engineering teams to determine appropriate corrective action.
  • Assist with root-cause investigations and process improvement activities.
  • Support calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment.
  • Assist with inspection documentation, control plans, and other quality-related records.
  • Communicate quality concerns clearly and effectively to machinists, supervisors, and engineering personnel.
  • Help ensure products meet customer, industry, and internal quality requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of quality inspection experience in a precision machining or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of dimensional inspection and measurement techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, and optical comparators.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with production and engineering teams.
  • Experience in medical, aerospace, or other high-precision manufacturing is a plus.
  • A strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
