Job summary

Ducommun, Inc. seeks a Quality Technician to support manufacturing quality, review documentation, train staff, and participate in audits. You will assist in ensuring product conformance and process effectiveness across production lines.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, reading engineering drawings, and applying DOE/Lean methods. Solid communication and teamwork are essential for success in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of basic manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Proficient in technical writing with attention to detail; ability to read drawings.
• Analytical skills to plan, problem-solve, and set priorities.
• Familiarity with DOE, Lean manufacturing is preferred.
• Intermediate computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email and ERP/MRP.
• Ability to communicate with customers and project image to attract business.
• Negotiation and conflict management with troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Review Documentation (DANs) and new Process and Routing Sheets.
• Conduct employee training to industry standards.
• DMR data collection and review meetings.
• Re-certification training and QA representation at meetings.
• Assist with internal audits and product process audits for compliance.
• Create Dan's requested by QA and maintain Training Plans.
• Perform other assignments as required.
• Monitor personnel and processes to ensure policy compliance.
• Update area supervision on concerns and statuses.
• Support special projects and contract review per QAOP 4.3.

Job Summary

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of basic manufacturing and assembly processes together with work measurement and work standards
• Proficient in technical writing, good documentation skills; attention to detail is critical; ability to read and interpret engineering drawings required
• Demonstrated analytical expertise including ability to plan, resolve problems effectively, and establish priorities
• Understanding of DOE, 6-Sigma, Lean Manufacturing desired
• Intermediate level of computer skills in email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Microsoft Project and MRP/ERP
  
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with customers and project company image to attract business
  
• Negotiation and conflict management skills together with demonstrated experience troubleshooting and problem-solving
  
• Ability to multi-task efficiently and adapt within a rapidly changing environment

Required Experience and Education

• H.S. Diploma or GED
• 2 years experience in maintaining production and inventory control standards in a manufacturing setting
• Minimum 2 years of prior experience with ISO or AS environments a plus
