Job summary

nVent is seeking a Quality Technician to join our team, contributing to the inspection, testing, and conformance of electrical solutions in a manufacturing environment.

You will perform comprehensive product inspections, field service installations, and test components of factory assembled systems while applying ISO procedures and quality controls. A strong eye for detail and experience with measuring equipment are valued.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED (required).
  • Associate degree in Electronics preferred.
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of Ohms Law and reading prints preferred.
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment and basic math.

Quality Technician

As a Quality Technician at nVent Management Company, you will be part of a team known for their hard-working approach in delivering top-tier electrical solutions.

What you will experience in this position:
  • Performing comprehensive product inspections based on criteria defined in work instructions, checklists, and drawings.
  • Performing field service installations, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Testing of all components of factory assembled systems including mechanical operation, electrical connections and circuits, controls, and troubleshooting.
  • Prioritizing tasks as established by the Supervisors to maintain efficiency and meet departmental deliverable goals.
  • Identifying non-conforming products that do not meet predefined requirements.
  • Crafting Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) in response to discoveries of non-conforming products.
  • Ensuring there are no active NCRs before completing a product inspection to maintain strict quality control and compliance.
  • Applying precision and non-precision gauges, meters, tools, or devices to determine conformance to the relevant acceptance criteria.
You have:
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Associate degree in Electronics or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Experience in quality processes and familiarity with Quality Management Systems are preferred.
  • Knowledge of Ohms Law; read and interpret enclosure, mechanical, wiring, and schematic prints is preferred.
  • Ability to use tape measure and precision measuring equipment (e.g., Calipers, micrometer, paint mil gauges, hardness tester, CMM, measuring tables, optical comparators, functional testers, etc.).
  • Ability to effectively coordinate, plan workload and work in a self-directed manner.
  • Ability to apply strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with individuals across various functional areas within the company.
  • Ability to interpret and apply Quality System / ISO procedures and documentation.
  • Ability to quickly learn and operate a wide variety of test and measurement equipment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to apply appropriate math and geometry.
  • Skill in using personal computers including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
You have the ability to obtain:
  • Forklift operator certification
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • MO Class E Driver License and REAL ID
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
