Job summary

Electronic Technologies International, Inc. is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform final inspection of wire harnesses, cable assemblies and PCB assemblies to ensure conformance to customer drawings, IPC workmanship standards, BOMs, and work instructions.

The role includes cross-site support for ACH and ETI and a structured 90–120 day training program. The candidate will work with Production and Engineering, maintain traceability, and approve or reject products based on criteria.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2-3 years of manufacturing inspection experience.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to interpret BOMs and assembly documentation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and visual inspection capability.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform final inspection of wire harnesses, cable assemblies, box build assemblies, and PCB assemblies.
  • Verify all products conform to drawings, specifications, BOMs, and work instructions.
  • Ensure IPC workmanship requirements (IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC-A-610) are met.
  • Verify labeling, serialization, packaging, documentation, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Complete inspection documentation accurately and maintain product traceability.
  • Approve or reject finished products based on acceptance criteria.
  • Inspect wire routing, crimp quality, terminal insertion, and connector orientation.
  • Inspect solder joint quality, component placement, leads, and defects.
  • Communicate defects to Production and Quality Manager; support root cause investigations.

Job description

The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing final inspection of wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies to ensure compliance with customer specifications, engineering drawings, IPC workmanship standards, and internal quality procedures. This position serves as the final quality gate prior to shipment across both American Cable & Harness (ACH) and Electronic Technologies International (ETI), ensuring only conforming products are released to customers.

As a team player committed to our company's success, this inspector will support both facilities with the ability to identify process improvements, work cross-functionally with Production and Engineering teams, and contribute to our continuous improvement initiatives. During the first 90-120 days, this role includes structured training across both ACH and ETI facilities to build comprehensive expertise in wire harness and PCB inspection.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Final Product Inspection
  • Perform final inspection of wire harnesses, cable assemblies, box build assemblies, and PCB assemblies
  • Verify all products conform to customer drawings, specifications, Bills of Material (BOMs), and work instructions
  • Ensure all products meet IPC workmanship requirements (IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC-A-610)
  • Verify labeling, serialization, packaging, documentation, and customer-specific requirements
  • Complete inspection documentation accurately and maintain product traceability
  • Approve or reject finished products based on acceptance criteria
Wire Harness Inspection (Primary at ACH)

Inspect in accordance with IPC/WHMA-A-620:

  • Wire routing and dress, crimp quality, terminal insertion, connector orientation
  • Shield terminations, torque verification, mechanical hardware installation
PCB Assembly Inspection (Primary at ETI)

Inspect in accordance with IPC-A-610:

  • Solder joint quality, component placement and orientation, polarized device verification
  • Lead trimming, solder bridges, insufficient/excessive solder, lifted pads
  • Damaged components, Foreign Object Debris (FOD), conformal coating (when applicable)
  • Mechanical assembly and connector installation
Quality Support & Continuous Improvement
  • Communicate defects to Production and Quality Manager
  • Verify effectiveness of rework before product release
  • Assist with root cause investigations and corrective action activities
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancement
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2-3 years of manufacturing inspection experience
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Ability to interpret BOMs and assembly documentation
  • Excellent attention to detail and visual inspection capability
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience inspecting cable assemblies and PCB assemblies
  • ISO 9001 and ESD handling experience
  • Experience with precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, microscopes)
  • ERP/MRP software experience (ShopWorX preferred)
