Job Title: Quality TechnicianJob Description
The Quality Technician ensures the delivery of high-quality, safe, and reliable Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) by executing standard operating procedures and work instructions, and by accurately recording quality data. This role focuses on inspecting components and products to confirm they meet safety, technical, and customer requirements, while supporting continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and quality control.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed quality inspections of components and outsourced sub-assemblies in accordance with design drawings and specification documents.
- Maintain and update the quality database to track compliance of components and outsourced sub-assemblies.
- Prepare and deliver monthly and quarterly quality summary reports based on inspection data and findings.
- Use instrumentation and measurement tools and techniques to verify mechanical and electrical components against specifications.
- Facilitate and support investigations of quality control defects, including failure analysis and root cause determination.
- Contribute to manufacturing process improvements and problem-solving activities to enhance product quality and reliability.
- Maintain the tool calibration database and ensure calibration activities follow established procedures.
- Complete supplier corrective action reports (SCARs) and participate in internal quality auditing activities.
- Support and contribute to 5S initiatives to maintain an organized, efficient, and safe work area.
- Generate clear, accurate, and timely quality reports for internal stakeholders.
- Support red tag and yellow tag failure analysis processes and ensure proper documentation and follow-up actions.
- Keep the work area clean and ensure product staging is organized, labeled, and documented in accordance with procedures.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience with quality control for electronic and electro-mechanical components.
- Ability to perform incoming quality inspections on mechanical and electrical components.
- Proficiency in using measurement instrumentation and tools for mechanical and electrical inspections.
- Experience supporting investigation of quality control defects and failure analysis.
- Ability to maintain and manage quality databases and generate summary reports.
- Experience with supplier corrective action processes (SCARs) and internal quality auditing.
- Familiarity with 5S practices and continuous improvement methods.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Office 365 for data analysis and report preparation.
- Minimum of an associate degree or technical school education in Computer Science, Electro-mechanical, or Electronics discipline.
- At least one year of preferred experience in software testing, electro-mechanical hardware testing using software interfaces such as data acquisition, or a related industry.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Hands-on electronics experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with electro-mechanical hardware testing using software interfaces, including data acquisition tools.
- Preferred experience in software testing for hardware or embedded systems.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems is a plus.
- Ability to interpret engineering design drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspection, documentation, and reporting.
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to support cross-functional teams in resolving quality issues.
- Interest in building a long-term career in an engineering and manufacturing environment.
Work Environment
The role combines office and manufacturing floor activities. The Quality Technician works in a cubicle setting for tasks such as data entry, report preparation, and database maintenance, and spends time on the manufacturing floor performing inspections, measurements, and failure analysis. The environment involves close interaction with electronic and electro-mechanical components and test equipment, as well as collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams. The position offers hands-on exposure to electronics in a modern engineering and manufacturing facility, providing opportunities for professional growth and career development.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Coraopolis, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
