Job summary

Pursuit Aerospace is seeking a Quality Technician in Cleveland, OH. You will support the Quality Department with calibration, testing, documentation, and compliance to AS9100 and related standards.

The role requires attention to detail, experience with precision tools, and the ability to work with engineers and production staff in a fast-paced aerospace setting. On-site position with safety and quality as priorities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred.
• Six months calibration or technical role experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with calibration standards (ISO 9001/ANSI/ASTM/NADCAP).
• Experience using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges).
• One year reading and interpreting technical drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Support QA in establishing and maintaining the quality management system (AS9100).
• Read and interpret blueprints, routers, sketches and drawings.
• Calibrate instruments to maintain measurement integrity and record results.
• Maintain calibration certifications and ensure compliance with standards (ISO, ASTM, NADCAP).
• Troubleshoot and repair faulty measurement equipment; collaborate with engineers and production staff.

About the Opportunity:

The Quality Technician plays a critical role within the Quality Department, supporting inspection, laboratory testing, documentation, and compliance activities. This position works closely with internal departments, external vendors, and management to ensure product quality meets customer, regulatory, and internal requirements. This role requires strong attention to detail, technical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.

Location: Cleveland, Ohio

Responsibilities:

• Assist the quality department in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality management system. (AS9100)
• Read and interpret blueprints, factory routers, sketches and drawings, MSDS sheets and safety related information.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled calibrations on gages and measurement equipment to maintain measurement integrity.
• Calibrate a wide variety of instruments such as dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, CMMs (coordinate measuring machines), and pressure gauges.
• Maintain calibration certifications, ensure compliance with industry regulations, and follow quality standards (ISO, ASTM, NADCAP).
• responsible for all maintenance of the calibration system.
• Ensure PO requirements for all necessary flowdown requirements for all calibration contracted services
• Ensure all calibration records for contracted services are reported correctly and retained in calibration system.
• Ensure on time schedule adherence for all calibration devices.
• Coordinate with all contracted service providers to ensure adequate P.O. coverage and ensure scheduled calibrations are completed before due date.
• Ensure all calibration records from pyrometry system is complete and accurate
• Troubleshoot and repair faulty measurement equipment, as needed.
• Collaborate with engineers and production staff to address calibration-related issues.
• Maintain and update calibration records using electronic systems.
• Assist in maintaining the calibration database and assist with audits when required.
• Provide training to staff on proper calibration procedures and measurement techniques.
• Support site needs related to over-inspection, shipment write up, and other Quality dock area functions.
• Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI's) and run statistical reports.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (associate's degree in a technical field preferred).
• At least six months experience in calibration or a related technical role, preferably in manufacturing or production environments.
• At least six months of experience working with calibration standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ANSI, ASTM, NADCAP).
• At least six months of using precision maintenance tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, and other precision instruments.
• At least one year of previous experience with reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Willingness to accept training for additional required certification testing.
• Attention to detail while performing multiple tasks in a production environment and problem solving.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Ability to follow documented procedures, work instructions and customer required records and to keep accurate records.
• Solid PC skills including MS Excel and Word.
• Documentation skills

Working Conditions:

• Frequent standing, walking, and working in a manufacturing environment.
• Exposure to laboratory chemicals and shop conditions (grinding, polishing, etching).
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
• Occasional extended hours or weekend work may be required to meet production and customer deadlines.
