About the Opportunity:

As a Quality Engineering Technician, you will have the responsibility for maintaining and supporting quality engineering processes and systems consistent with the plant's quality policies and objectives including, but not limited to CMM programming, FAI, receiving of raw material and testing, generating COC/COTs, marking programming, assisting in implementation of quality system initiatives.

Cleveland, OH

This role will be onsite 100% of the time.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the quality department in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality management system (AS9100).
  • Work with quality engineering to facilitate audits/layered process audits, close out audit findings using proper corrective actions.
  • Program metrology equipment to include CMM, laser scanning, etc.
  • Support completion of FAI (First Article Inspection) reports including, but not limited to ballooning drawings, generating AS9102 forms, layout inspection, statistical analysis, and generating control plans.
  • Conduct receiving inspection actives including but not limited to receiving product from outside service venders, reviewing certs and counts, signing off routers, receiving and releasing raw material (includes use of XRF device and assigning heat codes).
  • Assist Quality Engineering on metallurgical testing of material by assisting in procedure generation, compiling of testing data.
  • Assist in communication with testing vendors to coordinate schedule for testing results after heat treat.
  • Support in Quality dock functions, including but not limited to creating, filing and reviewing various quality related documents and other administrative functions as required.
  • Compile shipping paperwork package CofC's (Certificate of Conformance), COT's (Certificate of Testing), Furnace charts, Product Testing Certificates, Material Certificates, etc.
  • Complete DQR review process per customer requirements.
  • Assist Quality Engineering in generation of marking programs.
  • Support site needs related to over-inspection, shipment write up, and other inspection/part shipment duties as needed.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in quality inspection or a related technical role required, preferably in manufacturing or production environments.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates degree in technical field (Engineering Technician) preferred.
  • Must have full working knowledge in the use of inspection tools and gages, such as scribes, vernier calipers, height gages, depth gages, micrometers, cylindrical plugs and thread gages, periphery or PI tapes, decimal scales, indicators, inspection fixtures, coordinate measuring machine and other automated measuring devices.
  • Experience in (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, ANSI, ASTM, NADCAP) preferred.
  • CMM programming in PCDMIS preferred.
  • Experience in Polyworks preferred.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail while performing multiple tasks in a production environment.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to follow documented procedures, work instructions and customer required records processes and to keep accurate records.
  • Solid PC skills including MS Excel and Word.
Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Recurring activities involving being around moving machinery and exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity.
  • Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor.
  • Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to accommodate priorities, deadlines, and schedules.
