Job summary

Brio Water Technology is seeking a detail-oriented Quality & Returns Associate to inspect and process returned products, track arrivals, and document findings. You will support QA, CS, and warehouse teams while maintaining a clean, organized work area.

The role requires an associates degree, 1–2 years in quality testing, basic mechanical aptitude, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Training in SOPs and 5S practices is provided.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect sample products and returns.
• Track returned products on arrival.
• Diagnose root cause of returns.
• Unpack and inspect for physical damage.
• Test units for functional issues (cooling, heating, leaks).
• Identify cosmetic vs functional defects and document findings.
• Repair or recondition products.
• Clean and repackage units for resale, refurbish, or scrap.
• Perform basic repairs if authorized.
• Complete inspection logs and testing data.
• Coordinate with QA and CS teams.
• Report defect patterns to Quality leadership/CS.
• Notify QA Management about missing parts or misuse.
• Support warehouse operations.
• Maintain 5S organized workspace.
• Assist inventory reconciliation for returns stock.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and Inspect Sample Products/Returns
• Track returned products upon arrival
• Diagnose the root cause issue for returns
• Unpack returned units and visually inspect for physical damage (as needed)
• Test returned units and product samples for functional issues (cooling, heating, leaks, etc.)
• Identify cosmetic vs. functional defects and document findings
• Repair or Recondition Products
• Clean and repackage units as needed (for resale, parts refurbish, or scrap)
• Perform basic repairs if authorized (e.g., replacement of product components if in inventory)
• Complete inspection logs and testing data
• Coordinate with QA and CS (Customer Service) Teams
• Report patterns of defects to Quality leadership/CS
• Communicate any missing parts or customer misuse to QA Management
• Support Warehouse Operations
• Maintain organized work area (5S)
• Support inventory reconciliation for returns stock

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher education required
• 1-2 years of Quality and product testing experience
• Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with small appliances
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs/work with a system
• Strong organizational skills, ability to work in fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with water dispenser function and parts (compressor, heating, cooling, refrigerant, , etc.)
• Experience with handheld tools and multimeters
• Warehouse environment with variable temperatures
• Regular handling of returned units and product samples (some with water residue or packaging debris)
