Job summary

Bard Manufacturing Company, Inc. in Bryan, OH seeks an Entry Level Quality Technician to support sustaining and improving our manufacturing processes. You will gather and communicate quality data, conduct audits, and help drive corrective actions across departments.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing operations, fabrication, inspection, electrical circuits, schematics, and related components of consumer appliance products.
  • Must be able to read and understand drawings/prints
  • Ability to communicate and produce reports in a legible and comprehensive manner.
  • Must be willing to enforce established quality standards, assist in developing improvements, and participate in problem-solving efforts with outside departments.
  • Willingness to take further technical training in areas required to improve job skills when necessary.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and audits.
  • Basic Computer Skills - Word, Excel, Epicor
  • Experience with ISO 9000:2015 is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day manufacturing support, evaluating and addressing production concerns.
  • Perform internal audits, verifying process compliance to ISO standards.
  • Reports any discrepancies to the appropriate supervisors or department personnel as established by policy.
  • Evaluates and isolates quality problems that require corrective action under the authority of the Quality Assurance Department, promoting problem resolution.
  • Fills out necessary reports and forms, create and revise forms if necessary, and keep detailed records of audits and inspections.
  • Maintains files and records of department activities, documents, issues of prints, schematics, schedules, engineering changes and specifications.
  • Operate functional tests, when required.
  • Change testing parameters in the functional test when a new product is developed.
  • Maintains calibration of equipment used in various testing and measuring functions. Make repairs and adjustments when needed.
  • Inspect freight damage, packing damage, disposition and report findings to appropriate departmental personnel.
  • Performs necessary inspections and disposition for internal material and external materials.
  • Communicates with the supplier representative on discrepancies and the status of purchased parts.
  • Reviews and recommends specifications.
  • Attends meetings and educational classes, staying current with improved methods of performing job skills.
  • Ability to work additional hours as requested to meet business needs.
  • Perform Layered Process Audits as defined per schedule.
  • Conduct Process Audits, ensuring units meet the quality standards throughout all production steps.
  • Monitor and complete product audits on the production line per bill of material.
  • Perform first piece inspection in the fabrication departments.
  • Complete purchase requisitions when required.
  • Inspect and release the units after the rework is completed.
  • Perform inspections and aid during the new unit pilot process.
  • Assist with Quality orientation for new hires, including blueprint training
  • Other duties as instructed by his/her supervisor.

With production facilities in Ohio, Georgia, and Mexico, we service our customers both nationwide and internationally by designing and manufacturing cutting-edge engineered products.

Scope and Responsibilities:

The Quality Technician will provide support for sustaining and improving the performance of the manufacturing process. The Technician gathers, provides, and communicates accurate information regarding quality, compliance levels, and corrective actions to other departments. The Technician plays a key role in maintaining quality standards and promoting continuous improvement.
