Job summary

Axalta is hiring a Quality Technician to support the Quality function at our manufacturing site. You will perform laboratory testing, maintain quality systems documentation, and support continuous improvement initiatives to ensure products meet customer and regulatory requirements.

Schedule is Monday–Friday with potential Saturday shifts; candidate should have QC/lab experience and be able to work safely in a manufacturing environment. This role offers health benefits and paid time off.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous QC/QA or lab testing experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing and lab environment.
  • Experience in manufacturing, chemical/coatings/industrial settings preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine QC testing on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
  • Conduct sampling and accurately record inspection/test results.
  • Support Quality Engineers in customer complaints and product issues.
  • Assist with QNs, CAPA, and internal quality investigations.
  • Participate in root cause analyses (5 Why, 8D, FTA).
  • Support internal quality audits and documentation compliance.

This role is critical in ensuring products meet customer requirements, internal quality standards, and regulatory expectations.ScheduleMonday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (occasional Saturday depending on business needs)Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine quality control testing on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods using established laboratory methods and procedures.Conduct sampling procedures and accurately record inspection and test results.Support Quality Engineers with customer complaint investigations and product issue resolution.Assist with Quality Notifications (QNs), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and internal quality investigations.Participate in root cause analysis activities using methodologies such as 5 Why, 8D, CAPA, and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).Assist with internal quality audits and quality system compliance activities.Create, maintain, and ensure compliance with quality system documentation, procedures, and work instructions.Track, trend, and analyze quality data to support key quality metrics and continuous improvement initiatives.Perform in-process quality checks, application testing, and incoming raw material inspections.Maintain laboratory records, filing systems, and retain sample inventories.Support laboratory housekeeping, inventory management, and quality improvement projects.QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent, requiredPrevious Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or laboratory testing experience or similar experienceStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsAbility to work safely and effectively in a manufacturing and laboratory environmentExperience in manufacturing, chemical, coatings, automotive, or industrial environment, preferredExperience with root cause analysis, CAPA, audits, and quality systems.Ability to routinely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Required use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators when necessary.Moderate noise levels typical of manufacturing environments.Our Company:Axalta has remained at the forefront of the coatings industry by continually investing in innovative solutions.
