Job summary

Stecker Machine Company is seeking a Quality Tech - CMM in Manitowoc, WI to run CMMs, verify part quality, and ensure documentation accuracy. The role focuses on maintaining high-quality output and close collaboration with production teams in a busy CNC machining environment.

Responsibilities include performing First Article inspections, documenting results, inspecting raw materials, and helping identify control points for nonconforming parts.

Qualifications

• Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and understand how part orientation affects CMM reports.
• Interpret basic measurement data and relate it to CMM output.
• Manage gauges—track location, sign-in/out gauges, and organize tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform First Article inspections to ensure customer-specific requirements are met.
• Ensure quality documentation is completed by machine operators.
• Inspect parts and raw materials for defects and verify compliance.
• Assist in identifying control points when defective parts are found.
• Perform range quality tasks as needed and support the quality team.

OR

10 hours × 4 days/week

• 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift
• Weekend shift, 5am to 5pm on Fri, Sat, Sun
• Voluntary overtime
• 20-minute lunch break is paid! (which also shortens time at work by 30 minutes/shift)
• Shift premiums (+8% of pay) for 2nd and 3rd shift (for example, an employee making $25/hour gets $2.00/hour additional)

CMM Quality Technician Key Requirements:

• Operate CMMs and know how part orientation affects the CMM report.
• Interpret basic points and correlate it back to the CMM report.
• Manage gauges. Track location, assemble and sign-in/out gauges.
• Perform range quality tasks as need.
  • Perform verification inspections on First Article parts to ensure compliance with customer specific requirements.
  • Ensure quality documentation is completed by machine operators.
  • Inspect parts and raw materials for material defects.
  • Assist in finding the point of control upon discovery of defective parts.
• Other duties as requested by Quality Supervisor.
