Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking a Quality Technician for the 2nd shift in Tucson, AZ. The role supports receiving inspections, post-coating examinations, and mechanical testing to ensure adherence to customer and industry specs.

You will collaborate with production teams, read procedures and drawings, and assist with NADCAP audits as needed. A high school diploma and strong communication are required, with manufacturing experience preferred.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for performing receiving inspections on Tucson and customer components prior to coating application.
  • Perform examination of components in-process and after coating to customer and industry specifications
  • Perform mechanical testing after coating as required.
  • Work closely with ship employees and fellow technicians to support production and quality team members.
  • Ability to read and interpret procedures, drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with all company, customer and industry requirements.
  • Basic assistance with NADCAP audit preparation as required.
  • Communication with customer as required.
  • Helps to ensure that quality and standards for the department are adhered to and maintained.
  • Assumes other special activities and responsibilities from time to time as required
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Attention to detail and strong communication skills are required.
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

This position will physically require the incumbent to perform duties standing, walking, overhead reaching, lifting (35 - 40lbs), pushing and pulling totes, and leaning over machines, all equally on a regular basis.
