The Quality Systems Lead role will be responsible for overseeing the duties of the Quality Systems Coordinator and the Quality Technicians to ensure Reno’s Quality and Food Safety requirements are maintained. Oversight of Document control management, document review and approval and Quality related report metrics are also included. The individual will also monitor Quality system effectiveness and identify continuous improvement opportunities and perform additional quality control functions to ensure Reno consistently complies with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). Additional responsibilities of this position will be to lead and execute any other related activities assigned by Reno’s Food Safety Manager.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM

The Quality Lead will oversee and coordinate the activities of the Quality Systems Coordinator and the Quality Technicians.
Manage the Acidified Foods verification checks process according to Reno’s Food Safety Plan in compliance to all FDA Acidified Foods regulations.
Manage the PCQI verification checks process according to facility’s Food Safety Plan in compliance to all FDA regulations.
Lead the document control management to ensure all documents are maintained according to cGMP, regulatory and Clorox Quality Standards. Also, to execute corresponding procedures to ensure storage of controlled documents complies with FDA and Clorox Standards.
Coordinate the maintenance of Quality documentation in compliance with FDA, Food Safety Standards (ex: FSMA, ISO, etc.) and Clorox Standards.
Coordinate the maintenance of applicable Quality and Food Safety standards for the Reno manufacturing facility.
Manage document review cycles and coordinate updates with process owners.
Provide training to key stakeholders on analytical and Quality system requirements as required and collaborate on best practices with Reno Food Safety Manager and Quality and Process personnel.
Coordinate Mock Recall and traceability exercises.
Support the Food Safety Manager in 3rd party audit preparation, execution, responses, and full documentation.
SME for all of Clorox material and product specifications and the ability to interpret those specifications during Change Management and product issues. Efficiently communicate specifications to plant management or other personnel during product issue, or when trouble shooting an issue.
Work with outside vendors on quality related improvements and issues as directed by Food Safety Manager.
Work with outside vendor and services of Analytical lab, including repairs, calibration, and new equipment qualification and services.
Manage non-conforming products and raw materials and associated documentation.
Manage environmental monitoring program for the facility.
Manage completion of tasks in Q-TRACS.
Assists in customer complaint investigations.
Oversee and generate required metrics necessary for quality function: i.e., process capability, cost of quality, quarterly scorecard, environmental reporting, etc.
Interface with Corporate Quality as needed.
Work directly with Rabbi and Food Safety Manager to support the Kosher program maintenance for the Reno plant.
Work directly with GS and Food Safety Manager to execute compliance to Organic program and audit readiness for the Reno plant.
Participate in all plant and company safety rules, programs, and initiatives.
Work with and foster a partnership with all Process personnel, Packaging Personnel and Maintenance Personnel.
Perform any other assigned duties that fall within the scope of this job as defined by the Reno Food Safety Manager.
Foster a strong food safety culture by emphasizing that food safety is everyone's responsibility.
Emphasize continual improvement and open communications about food safety concerns
Minimum of 4 years’ experience within the department or other Quality Control/Quality Assurance department within a GMP environment.
Able to demonstrate good knowledge and proficiency with using the following computer programs: Microsoft Office Suite, Intelex, SAP, Synergy, etc.
Proven abilities in using available personnel, resources, tools, and information, demonstrate the ability to investigate, and support actions to reduce risks to food safety and quality.

4-year degree in science or technical field preferred.
