Qualifications

  • Ability to coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Sanitation, and Warehouse.
  • Experience with sanitation operations and supplies.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook; internet research skills.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.

Job description

Role Overview:

The Quality Systems Supervisor will support the maintenance of the company's quality systems and food safety requirements, with a strong focus on BRCGS compliance, audit preparation, product quality, and sanitation operations. This individual will help ensure that required documentation is properly maintained and that production standards are consistently followed.

The position works across Quality, Production, Maintenance, Sanitation, and Warehouse to support product safety and quality. The Quality Systems Supervisor will also oversee the Sanitation Department and supervise Quality Systems Technicians, requiring strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Quality Assurance, Microbiology, or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of BRCGS standards, food safety requirements, and third-party audit preparation.
  • Familiarity with maintaining and organizing food safety and quality documentation.
  • Knowledge of production quality standards, including product color, shape, size, taste, and packaging.
  • Ability to coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Sanitation, and Warehouse to support product safety.
  • Experience or familiarity with sanitation operations, including sanitation chemicals and supplies.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, along with internet research skills.
  • Bilingual English/Spanishrequired.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support BRCGS Compliance: Assist with maintaining annual BRCGS requirements and ensuring the facility remains prepared for third-party audits.
  • Maintain Food Safety Documentation: Ensure supporting food safety documentation related to BRCGS standards is properly organized, maintained, and readily available.
  • Monitor Product Quality: Review production activities to ensure consistent product quality, including color, shape, size, taste, packaging, and other applicable standards.
  • Coordinate Product Safety: Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Sanitation, and Warehouse to support product safety throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Oversee Sanitation Operations: Supervise the Sanitation Department and ensure sanitation activities and requirements are properly supported.
  • Manage Sanitation Supplies: Monitor and order sanitation chemicals and supplies as needed.
  • Supervise Quality Systems Staff: Provide oversight to Quality Systems Technicians and support the effective execution of quality-related activities.
  • Support Audit Readiness: Assist with maintaining organized records and ensuring the facility is prepared for BRCGS and third-party audits.
  • Maintain Quality Standards: Help ensure production activities consistently meet established quality and food safety requirements.
  • Support Cross-Functional Communication: Coordinate quality and food safety matters with relevant departments and provide follow-up when issues arise.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
