Job summary

Eldon C. Stutsman, Inc. in Hills, Iowa is seeking a Quality Systems Manager to lead, maintain, and continually improve the Hose & Valve Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001 and customer requirements.

You will drive corrective actions, monitor quality across incoming, in-process, and finished goods, and collaborate with engineering, purchasing and production to enhance processes and supplier performance.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Quality Management or related quality role.
  • Experience in hydraulic hose/ fluid power industry preferred.
  • Experience maintaining ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Experience with contamination control and cleanliness standards preferred.
  • Experience conducting quality audits.
  • Experience developing PPAP documentation and customer quality requirements preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of PA, CAR, and NCR processes.
  • CAD software experience: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, DraftSight or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and continuously improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Lead internal and external ISO audits and ensure adherence to procedures.
  • Manage documentation control and keep records current and accurate.
  • Ensure compliance with customer-specific quality requirements.
  • Investigate defects and nonconforming materials; implement corrective actions.
  • Develop inspection procedures and quality criteria; monitor KPIs.
  • Support PPAP processes and customer quality audits.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, engineering and production to resolve quality issues.

About the Job

The Quality Systems Manager is responsible for leading, maintaining and continuously improving the Hose & Valve Quality Management System while ensuring products, processes, and documentation meet internal, customer and ISO 9001 requirements. This position serves as a key resource for quality assurance, corrective actions, product quality, customer requirements, supplier quality, engineering documentation, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Quality Management System
    • Maintain and continuously improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS)
    • Lead and coordinate internal and external ISO audits
    • Maintain quality procedures, policies, work instructions, and supporting documentation
    • Manage the document control process and ensure documentation remains current and accurate
    • Ensure compliance with applicable customer-specific quality requirements
    • Identify opportunities to strengthen quality processes and overall QMS effectiveness
    • Non-conformance and Corrective Action Management
  • Monitor incoming, in-process, and finished product quality
  • Investigate product defects and nonconforming materials
  • Partner with purchasing and suppliers to resolve supplier-related quality issues
  • Develop and maintain inspection procedures and quality criteria
  • Maintain accurate quality and inspection records
  • Identify recurring product or supplier quality issues and recommend appropriate improvements
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing and assembly processes
  • Analyze quality trends and key performance indicators to identify areas of improvement
  • Lead and support initiatives focused on reducing defects, rework, and waste
  • Develop and standardize quality "best practices" across the division
  • Support and develop other continuous improvement initiatives
  • Customer Quality
    • Serve as a primary contact for OEM customers regarding quality requirements, concerns, and specifications
    • Develop an support the execution of Production Part Approval Processes (PPAPs) for customers
    • Manage contamination testing programs and associated documentation
    • Prepare customer quality reports and supported documentation
    • Ensure products and processes comply with applicable customer specifications
    • Support and coordinate customer quality audits
    • Investigate customer complaints and coordinate corrective actions as appropriate
  • Engineering & Technical Documentation Support
    • Create and maintain CAD drawings for hose assemblies
    • Maintain assembly instructions and related technical documentation
    • Manage and control engineering revisions to ensure accurate documentation is available
    • Support product documentation, specification, and technical files
  • All other tasks as assigned
Requirements
  • Experience in Quality Management, Quality Engineering, or related quality role is preferred
  • Experience in the hydraulic hose, fluid power or related industry is preferred
  • Experience maintaining and supporting an ISO 9001 Quality Management System
  • Experience with contamination control and cleanliness standards is preferred
  • Experience conducting quality audits
  • Experience developing or supporting PPAP documentation and customer quality requirements is preferred
  • Strong understanding of PA, CAR, and NCR processes
  • Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, DraftSight, or similar program is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
  • Strong technical documentation and recordkeeping skills
  • Excelled organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, lift assessment, and background investigation
