Job summary

Briggs & Stratton, LLC is seeking a Quality/Process Engineer in the Atlanta area to oversee and improve quality standards across processes, materials and products. The role focuses on development of control plans, inspection procedures and audits to ensure customer satisfaction.

The candidate will lead quality initiatives, provide technical expertise in quality tools, and mentor team members while coordinating with manufacturing. Some travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of quality practices and procedures including QMS and ISO/QS requirements.
• Knowledge of SPC and ability to interpret/process SPC information.
• Good interpersonal and written communication skills for diverse groups.
• Knowledge of GD&T and blueprint reading.
• Fluent in English and primary language for area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Maintains quality system policies and procedures and recommends improvements; interacts with team members to achieve daily and long term goals; ensures policies are followed
• Assists in development of control plans, inspection procedures, capability studies and sampling frequencies
• Develops quality initiatives to attain and maintain customer satisfaction and may direct quality analysts in planning and auditing activities
• Provides technical expertise in quality techniques; trains and motivates team members in quality fundamentals and manufacturing principles
• Supports customer issues: problem solving, root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions and verifications
• Monitors communications and information systems to stay aware of new projects requiring planning and initiatives
• Performs some managerial responsibilities: planning, assigning, directing work; interviewing, hiring and coaching employees; assists with performance management
• Performs other duties as assigned
