Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions Integrated Systems in Santa Clarita, CA is seeking a Quality Systems Engineer on-site. You will manage AS9100 and FAA quality processes, document control, and internal/external audits to ensure regulatory compliance.

You will lead corrective actions, support RCCA initiatives, and drive continuous improvement across engineering and manufacturing functions. A BS in engineering and 3+ years of AS9100 experience are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ yrs experience implementing and maintaining an AS9100 QMS in manufacturing and product development.
• Experience in defense industry quality processes and documentation.
• Proficient with Agile, SAP, SharePoint Online/Office 365 and ERP systems.
• Strong ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines and stay within budget.
• IAQG AS9100 Lead Auditor or AATT certification preferred.
• ASQ certifications (CQA/CQIA/CQE) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure FAA compliance with 14 CFR Part 145 and 14 CFR Part 21 across operations.
• Develop, review, and maintain regulatory docs, procedures, and manuals.
• Support FAA inspections, audits, and regulatory approvals.
• Interpret and implement FAA regulations across engineering and manufacturing.
• Create, maintain, and facilitate internal/external audit schedules.
• Prepare for third-party audits, lead audit teams, report findings, drive improvements.
• Analyze audit results and drive corrective actions (RCCA, 8D, 5 Whys).
• Provide QMS training and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
• Coordinate CAPA with department heads and cross-functional teams.
• Interact with Program Managers, Supply Chain, Operations, and Engineering on quality requirements.

Under the direction of the Sr. Quality Manager, the Quality Systems Specialist is responsible for managing the elements of the QMS including but not limited to facilitation and coordination of: QMS Document Control, Change Controls, Quality Events, Deviations, Corrective and Preventative action Board (CAB), Internal audit planning and facilitating. regulations, including 14 CFR Part 145 (Repair Stations) and 14 CFR Part 21(Certification Procedures for Products and Articles).* Develop, review, and maintain regulatory documentation, procedures, improvement within the organization.* Analyze audit results, identify non-conformances, and work with department heads to develop effective corrective action plans* Provides training and guidance to the organization on quality management system requirements and best practices* Stays current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in quality management systems and auditing* Supports the Quality Systems Manager in maintaining the integrity of the QMS and promoting a culture of continuous improvements* Supporting the IPT through driving RCCA process through the organization, including implementation/improvement to tools, training, and metrics* Supports Program Quality Engineering Customer Quality process, ensuring quick response and effective corrective FAA regulatory communications of system/personnel changes as required* Ensures timely updates to documentation in response to regulatory changes, internal audits, or process improvements* Assists with experience with the implementation and maintenance of a registered AS9100 QMS applied to both manufacturing and product development* Experience in quality, quality processes, and maintaining documentation systems, specifically in the defense industry, is preferred* Proficient with, Agile, SAP, SharePoint Online/Office 365 considered an advantage* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple
