Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. in Mentor, Ohio, seeks a Quality Engineer to join the aerospace quality team. You will design, test, and evaluate integrated production systems with emphasis on quality control, inventory and process optimization.

The role requires a B.S. in Engineering or Materials Science, 1-3 years aerospace quality experience, and knowledge of ISO, AS9100 and NADCAP. You will collaborate with engineering and operations and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Nondestructive testing knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for managing production.
• Develop and maintain quality systems with customers and manufacturing to ensure quality.
• Manage internal and supplier audits per QMS and customer requirements.
• Provide support of plant quality and continuous improvement programs (Six Sigma, SPC).
• Identify root causes with engineering/operations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Perform audits to monitor ISO/AS9100/NADCAP requirements and support training.

Work Experience:

1-3 years aerospace or IGT quality experience preferred. Experience which combines both customer contact and technical discipline will also be considered.

Principal Area of Responsibility:

Design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial production processes including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics and material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination.

Specific Duties:

• Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining systems relating to ISO, AS9100, NADCAP and other similar industry standards.
• Develop and maintain Quality systems with the customer and manufacturing organization to ensure delivery of quality products.
• Manage internal and supplier audits, as required by the customer and the Company’s Quality Management System.
• Provide support of plant quality and continuous improvement programs, including Six Sigma, SPC, and various customer driven programs.
• Work with engineering, operations and other company functions to identify root causes and ensure effective implementation of corrective actions.
• Perform audits to monitor product quality/ISO requirements and support manufacturing/inspection training activity as needed.
• Quality investigations as required to identify and eliminate scrap/rework causes and customer issues.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers, and supervisors.
• Any and all additional responsibilities as required or assigned.
