Job summary

Specialty Granules LLC (SGI) in the United States is seeking a Quality Systems Technical Specialist to uphold corporate and plant quality systems and drive product and process improvements. You will support QMS, QVM, and QIS, and collaborate with Quality, R&D, PED, and Operations to meet customer specifications.

The role includes coordinating with plant personnel, suppliers, and internal teams, leading audits, and developing QA procedures while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Statistics/Mathematics or related field required.
• 5+ years experience in a quality role in manufacturing or corporate environment.
• ASQ Certification preferred in one or more of CQIA/CQPA/CQI/CQT tracks or willing to obtain within first year.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and maintain a safe, neat work area.
• Coordinate with purchasing, plant personnel, and vendors to ensure raw materials meet quality standards.
• Prepare, log, ship, and recall exposures for natural weathering; maintain exposure records.
• Develop and maintain QMS procedures, policies, and test procedures.
• Develop and maintain QMS software and QIS in collaboration with plant personnel and IT.
• Lead quality and process improvement initiatives; support audits and corrective actions.
