Job summary

Boom Supersonic is building a robust quality architecture to ensure inspection data is credible, repeatable, and scalable on the Overture and related hardware. This role creates the layer above the shop floor quality work, partnering with machinists and engineers to codify standards, reporting, and nonconformance workflows.

Based in Colorado, the role focuses on designing end‑to‑end inspection processes, equipment needs, and documentation that allows rapid hardware movement without bureaucratic

Qualifications

• Experience as a quality engineer in aerospace/defense/precision manufacturing.
• Track record of building quality processes, not just running them.
• Strong GD&T fundamentals and ability to develop inspection plans from drawings independently.
• Familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality management frameworks.
• Experience speccing and procuring inspection equipment.
• Ability to work directly with machinists, programmers, and engineers and present data credibly.

Responsibilities

• Define how parts get inspected from receiving through in-process checks to final inspection.
• Develop the inspection report format, traceability framework, and nonconformance workflow.
• Work directly with our inspection team to establish standards for how inspection programs are built, documented, and handed off.
• Identify gaps in our current inspection capability, spec the equipment needed, and justify procurement.
• Establish how we handle parts that leave for outside processing and what gets verified on return.
• Build toward AS9100 compliance from day one.
