Job summary

Boom Supersonic is building the Overture supersonic airliner and the Superpower gas turbine, demanding manufacturing. This role builds the inspection architecture above the shop floor, creating repeatable processes from receiving through final inspection.

You’ll define inspection standards, reports, traceability, and nonconformance flows, collaborate with machinists and engineers, and drive toward AS9100 compliance from day one, while enabling fast, credible inspection without slowing production.

Qualifications

• Experience as a quality engineer in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing.
• Track record of building quality processes.
• Strong GD&T fundamentals and ability to develop inspection plans from drawings.
• Familiarity with AS9100 or similar frameworks.
• Experience specifying and procuring inspection equipment.

Responsibilities

• Define how parts get inspected from receiving through final inspection.
• Develop the inspection report format, traceability framework, and nonconformance workflow.
• Work with the inspection team to establish standards for how inspection programs are built, documented, and handed off.
• Identify gaps in current inspection capability and spec the equipment needed to close them.
• Establish handling for parts that leave for outside processing and what gets verified on return.
• Build toward AS9100 compliance from day one.
